Lancer at Kaplan's Furniture
In March, 1969 Lancer Inc. started manufacturing upholstered furniture in an old three story building in Star, North Carolina. From this humble beginning, we have grown in size and reputation. Lancer now occupies three modern plants that cover 400,000 square feet.
The Lancer name plate is one of the most trusted brands in the industry. In the early years, our products were primarily sold to wholesale distributors. After a short time, we focused our marketing efforts on independent retailers. The independent retailer soon became our only source of distribution.
Our belief is that those retailers who live and work in their communities are better equipped to sell and represent our products locally than are large chains with top management far removed from the local store. We, indeed, view these independent retailers as our major business partners in placing our products in the homes of our ultimate customer, the consumer. Our strategy is simple, to give the most value possible for the consumer's hard earned dollar.
We accomplish this by using only the best components and by using vertical integration for quality assurance. Our continuous improvement process serves to keep the Lancer brand among the best in the industry.
We cut and build our own frames in a state-of-the-art facility that houses high speed digital cutting equipment. We design our styles and cut our fabrics with the latest digital technology. Company-Operated Deliver Fleet Our foam fabrication plant uses digital cutting technology to cut foam parts to exact specifications. We select and continuously train our employees to craft our products to exacting standards. Our private fleet delivers our products to retail points of sale. We provide our retailers with product knowledge and over 1,200 sets of catalogs and fabric samples to assist consumers to make the best product choices to suit their needs and tastes. In short, we have made large investments in facilities, the latest technology, extensive and ongoing employee training and development programs, and a large investment in sales aids and product education for our network of retailers. The knowledge, skills, experience, and lancer Management Team commitment of our employees and of our independent retailers are without equal. Together, we deliver the selection and quality our consumers demand.
At Lancer we think we do much more than just manufacture furniture. We hope that along with creating quality American made furniture, we create joy for you, the customer. We find joy in knowing every piece we send out has the potential to seat families together on Thanksgiving, or family game night. From that piece of furniture you may watch your child take their first steps, watch your favorite football team score the winning touchdown, or just give you the relaxation you need after a hard day. Without you, we wouldn't be able to provide good jobs for our community and our suppliers communities. We wouldn't be able to do what we enjoy doing every day. Thank you!
